Accessories Spotlight || Bags by M

I am so excited to share this post with you today!  You are going to LOVE, LOVE this!!  I recently received from one of my chicest and most adored friends the most beautiful, unique and perfect present ever- the pink leather book clutch you can see above.  The book clutch, titled after one of my favorite books in the world, Pride and Prejudice, was designed by Bags by M. It is not only beautifully crafted with meticulous attention to detail, but also uses the finest leathers, silks and gold leaf techniques to create these treasures just like traditional books of the past. My friend chose the book title (she knows this one is one of my faves) and she chose the color as well, creating a stunning, personalized, original and extremely THOUGHTFUL gift.

Bags by M. was started by Maria Marigliano Caracciolo. Her designs are executed from the same techniques used by bookbinding artisans. The attention to detail is obsessive and each bag is handmade to individual specifications (you can have the owner's name inscribed in the back!). The bags are made in a fine bookbindery located in Naples at the Palazzo Marigliano, which is owned by Maria's family. Naples has a very long tradition in bookbinding so it is no surprise that here is where Bags by M. was born. In the 17th century, the use of printing grew rapidly and the Naple’s flourishing intellectual circles attracted book merchants from all over Europe. This encouraged the development of unique bookbinding craftsmanship in the area.

And my fun earrings are by Venezuelan Designer Carolina Damas ( I adore her designs. I get so many compliments when I wear them). My dress is from a Brooklyn based brand called Electric Feathers (I got mine from my favorite Dallas store Canary.  They have other colors as well.) It is so perfect for the beach as a caftan or you can dress it up for the evening!

The book clutch is so pretty and so ME.  When I'm not wearing it I like to leave it out on display in our family room so I can enjoy it during my regular day-to-day life.  It matches perfectly with our decor.
