Happy Fall!!! I love this time of year with cooler temperatures and so many fun holidays around the corner, although I have to say it feels very different with Covid this year. But we must make the best of it. And with this It’s a Colorful Life Fall Home Tour we can do just that. I’m so appreciative that Jennifer and Jewel included me in this fall blog hop. If you are coming from Miracle on Thirty Fourth Welcome! Today, I will be sharing some photos of my home with the little fall details I have added around the house. I’m a seasonal decor minimalist and don’t actually change much between one season and the next but I do like to add a few touches here and there. Let me show you around-
For fall I love all the leafy salad looking greens you can get at the supermarket to bring the outdoor fall feeling indoors. You can see below this subtle fall arrangement. My husband laughs and says we have bits of salad around the house.
This below is our entry with my beautiful grandmother greeting all our guests as they come in. I flanked her with these cute small stuffed cotton skeletons I found at a local store. They just look so original hanging from these antique vintage sconces. I really love the contrast the skeletons provide. It’s like two completely different worlds colliding. And to finish off the scene nothing says fall like orange pumpkins. Speaking about pumpkins, I do take advantage and bake a lot of pumpkin bread this month which my daughter and I love having for breakfast. This is my favorite recipe (we add extra chocolate chips). So good!!! Try it, you will thank me later.
And here are my fake glam pumpkins…gold and black. Understated but festive. If you are into DIYS these would be easy ones to make. Just buy some fake pumpkins like this one or these little ones, spray paint them and add the studs. Also, more leafy greens here.
My bar has been getting a lot more use since March for sure! I’m sure yours has too, blame it on Covid (my favorite drink libation from the quarantine was this one by fabulous Ina). Here, I just added some colorful flowers so they can stand out and not get lost with all the darker wood.
This is me! In front of my home office. As you can see I love color all year round not just in the fall.
I love orange, which I realize in not a popular color. Most people think it’s just for Halloween, but I beg to differ. I have it in my office as my accent color. I have the orange phone, pen holders and magazine boxes to help with clutter, and not pictured is my orange wastebasket. Those cute topiaries make me so happy. I hope I can keep them alive at least through December. Will keep you posted on that.
If you follow me on instagram you know I love entertaining and having friends over for dinner. I love the whole experience, from planning the menu, to prepping for dinner, to setting the table, to gathering and laughing with friends. Here is a fall tablescape I did recently. I was so excited to show off my new champagne coupes. I love mixing blue and white with the fall reds and oranges, it feels a bit unexpected.
And below is the last pumpkin I have to show you. My marble, black and white pumpkin that could almost stay out all year long at this table. It blends in so nicely in my white, black and gold section.
I hoped you enjoyed this Fall Tour! Now you can visit Airica’s home who is the next one on the list and here are all the other great ladies who are opening their homes so you can visit and be inspired!
