Laundry Room Refresh || Wallpaper
How are you all holding up? Things are opening up here in Dallas, slowly but surely. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have been trying to figure out our summer plans since we canceled our trip to Europe and my daughter’s summer program was moved online, which just did not work for us. So now, we have a wide-open summer schedule with a few ideas of places to go here in the US. Let’s see what we can figure out. In the meantime, I have been spending quite a bit of time in our laundry room. It was needing some excitement and so I decided some wallpaper would be a quick and easy refresh, alongside some art and a reupholstered chair.
Because sometimes timing is everything, I was approached by Photowall for a collaboration a few weeks ago and so was thrilled looking through their products. They have some really great wallpapers, wall murals, framed prints, canvas prints, and posters. I actually had a hard time deciding which wallpaper or wall mural to use. These are the ones that made the top of my list starting from the one above ( Cradled in Clouds )-
I realize these are all so very different from one another, but that was the fun part. Trying to figure out the vibe I wanted in this laundry room. Did I want to keep it clean and crisp, or have fun with a bolder statement? I had a few emails going around to family members taking votes on their favorites. I have to admit I almost went for the bird wallpaper.
If you remember some years ago I refreshed the little mud room area we have as we come in from our garage. This little space aside from feeding into our kitchen and family area also feeds into our laundry room. To remind you, it looks like this. Because it is black and white I ultimately decided to keep the laundry room black and white as well. Can you guess, which wallpaper I chose?
I have a fabulous vintage photograph of my grandmother as a child that I want to enlarge and frame for this space as well as reupholster an old chair in this fabulous Sunbrella black and white fabric. I’m doing just a few things to refresh this space but they will have a large impact. I can’t wait to share with you the final design. Because of the Covid-19 situation I’m not sure when it will all come together but I will be sure to share al my photos with you.
I’m so thankful to Photowall for wanting to collaborate with me in this fun project. They are also giving me a discount of 25% to all my readers with code: mimosalaneblog25 (valid through the end of June). Photowall is a Swedish company that was founded in 2006. Everything is made to order, which means no products are stored in a warehouse or thrown out unnecessarily. They also deeply care about the environment and strive to minimize their environmental impact. Together with Vi Agroforestry, they plant around 5000 trees every year in the area surrounding Lake Victoria in East Africa. Visit them, take a look and get inspired! Maybe you want to take on a small project like a hallway, a closet, or the pantry. Or maybe you want to take on a whole room. Photowall is a fun place to start.
